Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science of learning and motivation to promote socially significant behavior change. Decades of research supports ABA's effectiveness in teaching skills to improve communication, social and independence for learners with developmental disabilities in the home, school and community settings. ABA therapy aims to identify behaviors that are not best serving an individual and teaching more effective replacement behaviors in its place. ABA can reduce severe problem behaviors that may endanger health and safety, and which would otherwise limit educational, vocational and residential options for an individual.
No one can ethically offer this guarantee. However, we can work with your child to build skills and decrease problem behaviors, providing them opportunity to participate in home routines, school activities and community groups.
Currently, New York state has only approved ABA services for individuals with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, a prescription for ABA must be obtained from your doctor before services are provided.
